The College of Administration and Economics was established with the establishment of the university in the academic year (1987-1988), and at that time it included three scientific departments: economics, administration and statistics. In the first year of establishment, (225) students were accepted, and in the second year (266) students. (889) students were accepted, and in the following years the number of accepted students increased, as the Accounting Department was opened in the academic year (1994-1995). And the Department of Law in the academic year (2001-2002).

The duration of study in the college is (4) years, after which the graduate will be granted a bachelor’s degree in economic, administrative, statistical, accounting, and (financial and banking) sciences.

The achievements of the college during the past few years have greatly raised the level of higher education in the university and established its status as a new path in higher education to work on preparing the technical frameworks needed by economic development programs.

The College of Administration and Economics is one of the first colleges in which evening studies were opened in the Accounting Department, followed by the opening of the Department of Business Administration in the academic year (1996-1997) and the Department of Law in the academic year (2001-2002) to become the College of Law in the academic year (2005- 2006) The Department of Banking and Financial Sciences was opened in the academic year (2005-2006).

As for postgraduate studies, it had a great share of importance, as the following studies were introduced:

Master’s degree in economics in the academic year (1995-1996).

Studying a master’s degree in business administration in the academic year (1998-1999).

PhD study in economic sciences in the academic year (1999-2000).

Studying for a master’s degree in accounting sciences in the academic year (2014-2015) is currently pending.

Studying a higher diploma in strategic planning in the academic year (2014-2015).

PhD study in administrative sciences in the academic year (2015-2016).

Studying a master’s degree in banking and financial sciences in the academic year (2015-2016).

Studying a master’s degree in statistical sciences in the academic year (2016-2017)
